TJ Cloutier Background Infortmation
Before his successes at the World
Series of Poker (WSOP), TJ Cloutier won an athletic scholarship to the
University of California, Berkeley, for American football and baseball, and
played in the Rose Bowl in 1959.
Following his US Army draft he played football for both Toronto and Montreal in the Canadian Football League before suffering a career-ending injury.
Cloutier quit his job working on oil rigs in Texas when he realised that he was winning more money playing poker than he was earning.
World
Series of Poker
Cloutier has won 6 World Series of Poker bracelets and is the only person in WSOP history to win events in all three types of Omaha played at the World Series - (Pot Limit High, Limit High and Limit 8-or-Better High-low split).
Despite enjoying phenomenal success at the WSOP, Cloutier has never won the WSOP Main Event. He has, however, featured in the Top 5 on no less than four occasions, including runner-up finishes in 1985 and 2000.
Cloutier is tied with Phil Hellmuth for the most all-time WSOP final table finishes record, each with 39. He has cashed 54 times and won over $4.3 million in prize money at the WSOP.

Other Poker Tournaments
Cloutier has featured in the Ultimate Poker Challenge, the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, the televised Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament and Poker Royale: Battle of the Ages.
